This seminar digs deeper into the 6 pillars that are the cornerstone of leading successful Enterprise Business Agility transformations. We’ll share how to form the right transformation team and lead measurable and sustainable Business Agility transformations. 

What we’ve learned is leading a business agility transformation is like trying to eat an elephant. You have to break it down to ‘Tracks’ and make progress in parallel because all of the areas are important and can impact each other. How fast/slow you go within each track is up to appetite and capacity of the transformation team and enterprise culture.

Lean Business Agility – 2 Day Workshop:

This workshop is provides a deep dive into the end to end Agile Lifecycle with an overview of the 6 pillars of Lean Business Agility :

Learning Objectives:
At the end of this course participants will be able to:
  • Clearly articulate the value of Agile methods and distinguish between when to use what method.
  • Communicate the Agile roles and expectations of each role.
  • Describe the Agile lifecycle and meetings.
  • Build a backlog and write user stories.
  • Understand the customer personas and their needs.
  • Estimate and size the backlog and develop a release plan.
  • Describe how to execute work in an iterative manner. 

Common Transformation Tracks:

  1. Lean Portfolio Transformation
    • Goal: Bring maturity to the Demand Management of the portfolio. Ensure initiatives are broken into quarterly deliverables, have business value points and are ranked against others. Ensure deliverables have been vetted for ‘viability’ and gone through ‘Discovery’ before being pulled by any delivery team. Establish quarterly portfolio planning and continuous refinement practices. Perform a Lean Portfolio Health ‘current state’ assessment if needed.

  2. Teams and Streams (Stable Team Design)
    • Goal: Bring maturity and visibility to Capacity Management. Design teams to be Stable and align them by line of business or value stream desired. Establish program/product leadership teams. Address capacity and skill gaps. Establish quarterly capacity planning alongside with demand planning. Bring high visibility into the Teams and their current workload. Perform Lean Product Health assessment if needed.
    • Goal: Stand-up the teams by training and coaching them on Agile, stand-up the programs/product leadership teams. Establish quarterly release train planning and execution. Measure and assess the baseline Team Health of the teams then repeat each quarter to ensure growth is actually happening.
  3. Leadership and Cultural Transformation
    • Goal: Begin the leadership transformation and re-skilling needed to move from a top-down command and control style of leadership to a servant leader/empowerment style. Roll-out the Adaptive Leader transformation program for senior leaders and middle managers.
    • Goal: Begin the team level soft skill and cultural transformation needed for success. Roll-out the Team Cultural transformation workshops (facilitation, collaboration, team visioning).
  4. Technology Transformation 
    • Perform a Technical Health assessment  to understand the current state. Build a desired vision and roadmap for transformation.
    • Execute technology transformation roadmap.
